THE “LOVE” OF
A MOTHER
The love of a Mother is like no other.
Obviously,
only here on Earth, I must confess,
For the
Love of God is in a class all by itself.
A
mothers’ love is not to be taken for granted,
Because
it is pure and heartfelt, not slanted.
When a
woman becomes a mother, her life takes on new meaning,
She is
now responsible for new life, she is beaming.
She
receives God’s Gift with pleasure and pain,
For she
knows what’s in store is a lifetime of gain.
A good
mother places God first, her husband second and her children third,
And you
never have to wonder which one is going to be served.
She is
careful to allow it to be as it should be,
Fall to
her knees, stand by her man and guide kids to destiny.
A good
mother is caring, But not
overbearing.
She is
a friend, But a
mother to the end.
A
mother is a mother for life
She
works hard so there is no strife.
A
mothers’ love remains in tact,
No
matter how her children act,
She
looks beyond the current behavior,
Because
she serves a Risen Savior.
She
raises her children in the way they should go,
They
will not depart from it, this we all know.
She
supports them until they can support themselves,
She
expects them to excel as their time with her expels.
God
bless mothers all over the World,
He gave
this job to just us girls.
He gave
us wisdom to do our best,
And the
good sense to know, He’ll do the rest!

Welcome aboard the “Trinity” Express!
Your life has already taken a turn for the best!
You have been chosen by the Ultimate Conductor,
To sit back, relax and listen to your Instructor.
The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are ONE,
Creation, Salvation and Infiltration are done!
Your trip on the Express requires no ticket,
It is given freely and you can’t afford to miss it!
God the Father, creator of all things,
Showers us with Love and all the Joy it brings.
God the Son, Jesus is His Name,
Paid the price on Calvary, our Savior He became.
God the Holy Spirit is our Helper and our Guide,
He has instsructed us to take this ride.
Now, we see the Holy Trinity, three in one,
Always working together, with them we’ve won!
Glory be to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit!
We depend on all Three of them to steer it!
So hang on Beloved and enjoy the ride,
When aboard the Express, God is always on your side!

MEN
Take Your Rightful Place

Men were created and born toLEAD,
Take your rightful place and fill that NEED.
Our families need you to stay in PLACE,
If we are to survive and maintain our RACE.
We, as a people are proven SURVIVORS
But when men go to prison we lose our PROVIDERS.
Our young men are to learn from their DADS,
To follow a role model, not just the FADS.
There is a time and place for every CIRCUMSTANCE,
And now is the time to pull up your PANTS.
Responsibility and work ethic must be TAUGHT,
When our men take their place, it will be more than a THOUGHT.
Young men and old are about to step-up to the PLATE,
Enough time has been wasted and it’s never too LATE.
Men of the world, your time is HERE,
Time to follow the MASTER’S LEAD and draw Him NEAR.
When you have positioned yourself according to His PLAN,
Your family is strong again , they are your proud CLAN.
We must continue to prepare and equip our MEN
To mentor and teach our boys to do the right THING.
Barack Obama, our first African American President
Has indeed lifted the BAR,
Now, it’s your turn to take your rightful place
As the STARS, we know you ARE.

You are what makes me sing.
You are my pride and joy,
You gave me each grand boy.
You are the light of my life,
You are the reason there is no strife.
You opened my eyes that I might see,
You showed me who You intended me to be.
You turned my life completely around,
You planted my feet on the most solid ground.
You always listen when I pray,
You allow me to see a brand new day.
You are my Shepherd both day and night,
You guided me to the marvelous light.
You always give me something to smile about,
You never allow me to be down and out.
You gave me many gifts to be used for Your Glory,
You made me the woman who will tell the story.
You loved us so much, You died for us all,
You welcome us to heaven to be with Y'all.
Yes, You Lord are my saving grace,
You are responsible for this shining face.
You gave me a spirit of love, power and a sound mind,
And it is your "SON" that makes me SHINE!!!!

My Little Drummer Boy!

He has had the potential to become a musician,
Straight from his mother’s womb.
He bobs his head and snaps his fingers,
As he travels from room to room.
He has loads of rhythm and lots of soul,
For surely one day it will turn to gold.
My new set of pots will never be used for cooking,
Whenever I try to use them, he is wide-eyed and looking.
For if anyone disturbs the drum set,
They had better be ready to hop on a jet.
He is serious about his music,
So we encourage him so he doesn’t lose it.
Visitors don’t always appreciate his sound,
You had to have been there from womb to now.
At age one, all you heard was “loud”,
Now he’s eight and makes us all proud.
He is my precious little drummer boy,
Who fills my heart with unspeakable joy!

Thank you God for allowing me to see,
A United States President who looks just like me.
He is the epitome of a great and caring leader,
Thank you for raising him up like Peter.
“On this Rock, I will build my church”,
Through this Rock, I will bring heaven to earth.
“In God We Trust”, this country was first founded,
And God through Obama, assures we will be grounded.
An African American President is a reality in my lifetime,
There are no words to express the pride and jubilation that’s mine.
In my lifetime and in the lifetime of my children and grands,
Change is on the horizon and there is a man who says, “Yes we can”.
He will be able to do all things through Christ,
When he allows Him to lead the rest of his life.

The highest office in the land is held by a man who says, “Yes We Can”.
He has certainly given us reason to be proud,
Every time he speaks, he mesmerizes the crowd.
He is the first African American to hold the office of President,
He will soon be inaugurated and become a “White House” resident.
He and his beautiful family are indeed a class act,
They will be a breath of fresh air in DC, that’s a fact.
Barack and Biden have strategically worked their way to the top,
When their plans are in place, they will be hard to stop.
As a proud member of the “Baby-Boomer” generation,I praise God for raising him up for this Our Nation.
“One Nation under God, indivisible with Liberty and Justice for All.”
Obama has been anointed and appointed for such a time as this,
As long as he continues to follow God’s Lead, he can’t miss.
The implications and ramifications of this “Historic” event,
Are far-reaching for all and proves he was sent.
Now, when we tell our children they can be the President of the United States,
The proof is in the “Election of 2008”.

Oh, to be a DELTA,
What a wonderful, wonderful thing.
I’m on the playground having fun,
I guess I’m just a little too young.
Oh, to be a DELTA,
I don’t know where to begin.
I’ve wanted to be a “DeltaGirl”
Since, way back when.
Oh, to be a DELTA,
It’s forever in my thoughts.
I just became a “DeltaTeen”,
I’m getting closer to my dream.
Oh, to be a DELTA,
Those beautiful, positive women
They are the “movers and shakers” you see,
The spirit of the community
Oh, to be a DELTA,
So graceful, intelligent and proud,
I’m really looking forward,
To joining that “fine” crowd.
Oh, to be a DELTA,

Attitude, grades and money look good,
When accepted, I’m a Delta forever.

Let's take a walk down memory lane,
We'll begin with MLK and his rightful claim.
He believed in the civil rights of all people,
And to ignore it, just might become lethal.
MLK was a visionary, who advocated peace,
He ignited and excited North, South, West and East.
It is very obvious; he was used mightily for equality,
It was never so clear then in the recent victory.
BHO is the product of many, who toiled not in vain,
So he could have the opportunity to submit his name.
He has the same spirit as those before him,
It’s no wonder he’s been lifted to be among them.
He believes that we need to see a change in DC.
We believe he is the man who will lead from his knee.
America will be better as we support our president,
A wise man with character, charm and he’s confident.
Looking back at Martin and looking forward to Barack,
Is like a dream come true for both because “America Rocks”!

President Elect Barack Obama

Dear President Obama,
Congratulations on your overwhelming victory at the polls and in your life. Words cannot express the pride that fills my heart everytime your name and position are mentioned. For this momentous occasion to occur during my lifetime is indeed the Grace of God.
I am just a proud ordinary citizen of the United States who was inspired to write two poems to commemorate this history-making event. I pray that each poem will lift and encourage you and your family and let you know the powerful impact you have made on all Americans, but most especially minorities.
You have been lifted up in prayer all over this country and we know that you are covered by the Blood of the Lamb. Keep God first in your everyday activities and ask for wisdom in every decision you make. We love and admire you for allowing God to use you in such a profound way. Continue to surround yourself with more of God’s people and your journey will be fruitful and enjoyable.

H is for the Heart of God who sent Him to save us all.
R is for His Regal, Royal Reign to come, but not present at first.
I is for the Immaculate Conception and His unexplainable birth.
S is for the Star of David that lit the land so kings could see.
T is for the Treasure of His birth that would fulfill the prophesy.
M is for Myrrh, Frankincense and Gold that were brought from afar.
A is for Angels from God who protected and followed the star.
S is for Our Savior, the world receiving a Glorious Gift.
